It’s true what they say: You can read all the parenting books in the world (or Google every fact about parenting under the sun) but nothing truly prepares you for the practical aspect of it.

Sleep deprivation is something that can bring on madness. Truly, I am not exaggerating.

But seven weeks into it all and the days are getting a lot more manageable. The little one is starting to respond by smiling which melts the heart every single time. She is less fragile and a lot nicer to cuddle and she loves being close to Mummy. I can’t help but wonder what she’s going to be like when she grows up.

Or how she’s going to play with her fur siblings in just a few months time.

Milestone reached this week: Sally now comes down the staircase herself coz no one has the time to carry her down! Haha! My baby dog is all grown up now!

Meanwhile, I have started running again and am loving it. Next week, I get back to a regime of sorts, I hope :)

I never realised how much I loved sleep until my bub arrived ;)

Even now almost 2 years later, if she goes down for the count, so do I.
