Today, my baby girl is eight weeks old – That’s a whole two months out of the womb.

It’s hard to think that some months ago, I was looking at what looked like a Tiffany bean on the ultra sound screen – her brain glowing from the tiny head inside of me. I wondered what she would look like, what she would be like. And today, I know.

My little olive now has a face!

So much has happened in the past couple of weeks and my little girl’s personality is now starting to show. She is incredibly curious about things. She seems to get bored of toys real easy. But when it comes to Nature, she always gets very engaged and she can spend ages staring at flowers and plants.

She giggles when I blow raspberries and tries to make sounds back – at least I think that’s what she’s doing. And she generally gets very excited when we talk to her. I’m not sure if I’m reading too much into it but I think she also has a particularly more excited look when her Mummy spends time talking to her.

Motherhood is a pretty amazing thing and I thank God everyday for this wonderful blessing he has bestowed in our lives :)

She’s gorgeous, Janice! I just had a baby a week ago, and I’m looking forward to surviving even the first month – so I can imagine what a milestone it must be to see Naomi at the two month mark! Well done to the parents!

Congratulations Deb! I think it’s probably true what they say, that the first month is the hardest. Only coz you’re so deprived of sleep and they are not as responsive. But it gets better by the day so enjoy every second. And take pictures!! Their faces change everyday!!

Hi Janice, I came across your blog through the Links on Karen Cheng’s. What a lovely journal you’ve got going on here and congratulations on your little gem. She is sooooo cute! My little girl is 15mths+ now and she is learning new things (read: tricks) every day literally. I do miss her when she’s at her baby stages but we have heaps of photos and videos of her since Day 1. Enjoy basking in the joys of motherhood! :)
