So it’s Day Two of the Mummy’s Gone Back To Work week and I guess it’s safe to say that I think I’m doing okay.

Like every new mother, I fought back the tears when the husband and I dropped her off at the mother-in-law’s place on Monday morning. I kissed her on her chubby cheeks a million times and when I finally managed to tear myself away, she had this look of wonderment on her face as they waved us goodbye.

I bawled.

Throughout the work day, I couldn’t help but put in calls to ask how she was doing or just what she was up to. And it made me happy to hear that she was a cheerful little bug. And when I picked her up at the end of the day, she looked at me, gave me a huge grin and started waggling her body from side to side in delight. It was too cute. My heart melted into a gooey pile of mush.

Today was Day Two and she was at Gramma & Grandpa Lee’s. My Mum has been fantastic in providing updates on Baby Connect so I was able to keep track of what she was up to all day, and Mum even documented some of her activities in picture format. I could practically squish her cheeks from the office! :)

I must admit that because of all the logistics, the night feeds, unexpected night poops etc, I haven’t really been sleeping all that much so I wonder how long I’m going to be able to keep this up.

I must go for a quick fix of Muay Thai tomorrow for a shot of energy!

She looks so adorable in this photo..Press on Janice, once she is able to sleep thru the night, you will get back your beauty sleep soon! take care!

  3. Marie says:

I can’t imagine ‘back in the day’ when they had only a month’s leave… 4 months seems too short. Soon your body will get used to less sleep and then she’ll start sleeping off and on through the night and you’ll be fine :)
