I’m afraid of the dark.

Yup, you’ve got me. I’m the world’s biggest wuss. There’s just something about the dark that’s always got to me. My imagination runs wild and that’s just not a good thing – I’ve got one helluva wild imagination!

So when we were riding through Neo Tiew tonight, all I could think of was what might pop out at me in the dark. The air was cool and the only sounds were the crickets in the night and the whrrrrrr of our wheels. I asked Hubba not to drop me on the last climb, please.

But when the climb came, I hammered down and sped past him. There was no way I was going to be left behind. I was in quite a heavy gear and hadn’t shifted down, yet I pummelled up the hill as fast as my little legs could carry me.

I think I sprained my right butt cheek.

Ahhh, amazing what fear does to you, eh?

I can relate! (To the dark, not the cycling..) The worst is when I’m traveling alone and have to sleep on my own in the hotel… I leave so many lights on its a challenge to actually sleep!
