hairmelbWhen Naomi was about 8 months old, I chopped my hair off and went the Pixie route. It wasn’t a glamorous decision at all – In fact, it was because I lost so much hair and was balding in certain areas! It was a really good cut for a new mum as I really didn’t have to spend much time on myself and it worked well. But of course, lots of people thought I did it to match her…. Not surprising really!

A few weeks ago, I took Naomi for what was supposed to be a TRIM. But whilst she was sitting in the hairdresser’s seat, I asked if she wanted to go short. She answered with a quizzical “yes”!! Obviously she may not have really known what I was going on about but I was so excited that I asked the hairdresser for an asymmetric bob…. To scratch my own itch, really!

And that is how my little girl got her stylish little jaunty bob….

stylishbobI thought I’d scratched my itch and now I was impervious to any temptation to hack at my own hair… BUT I WAS WRONG!

Last night, I got overcome with the urge to get rid of my limp, difficult to maintain hair. I did a bit of surfing.. And decided to get myself to the hairdresser FIRST THING in the morning. And…. Well…. We’re now matchy matchy again!

samesameI know some people are going to think we look silly matching, but I know this hair is going to be so much easier to maintain now that I don’t have to do a silly amount of blowdrying in the mornings. And I will now stop tying my hair up when it’s wet…. Crossing my fingers for less hair loss this time around!

Do you have matchy hair with your offspring? Show me your’s!!!

Hi Janice, where do you go for your bob cuts? Looks amazing and I’m about to take the plunge after having the same long style for 10 years!

Hey Grace, I used to go to Toni & Guy but I have started going to Next at Holland Village. Today, Melvin cut my hair :)
